President Obama Visits Lorain County Community College and Welding Lab
On January 22nd, 2010 Lorain County Community College, a Weld-Ed Regional Center and Home of the National Center, had the privilege of hosting President Barack Obama for a town hall meeting.
Lorain County Community College was selected to be part of the White House to Main Street tour because of the college's Displaced Worker program and Wind Turbine program, both of which are a result of funding from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009.
During his visit on campus, President Obama took a tour of the new welding lab sponsored by Weld-Ed, and met Center Director, Duncan Estep. While visiting the welding lab, President Obama was briefed on Weld-Ed, including its mission, vision and goals.
