Weld-Ed at the 2010 FABTECH Expo in Atlanta
Weld-Ed the National Center for Welding Education and Training will host its third annual national Welding Educators Conference November 2, 2010 at the FABTECH Expo in Atlanta, Georgia. Educators nationwide are encouraged to join this daylong conference.
This informative day will begin with the background of the National Center for Welding Education and Training (Weld-Ed) and share insight on how Weld-Ed can help educators, best prepare for the next generation of welding technicians.
Conference begins at 9:15 a.m. and will conclude at 4:30 p.m. Sessions include: information on professional development opportunities for instructors; curriculum updates from the Weld-Ed Curriculum Committee; opportunities to be a part of Weld-Ed’s national network; assessment and evaluation of current welding practices; and information on the electronic documentation system of welding assessment, the ABET Based Assessment Model. Industry representatives Lincoln Electric, Miller, ESAB, Thermadyne etc. will share information on products and services they have that enhance the delivery of welding instruction.
Hypertherm has offered to sponsor lunch at the conference. They would like to have input from the instructors on “plasma cutting curriculum”.
